Advanced Audio Mixing with Roles
When it comes to applying effects to your audio, sometimes you want to apply one to a single component of a single clip, or all components of a clip; sometimes to all the audio within a specific subrole, and sometimes to all the audio in a overall role group. Final Cut Pro lets you do each of these, and lets you easily move back and forth between each of these levels to make additional tweaks at the clip/component level, the subrole level, and the role level.

Mark Bremmer from MicroFilmaker Magazine takes an in depth look at CrumplePop BetterStabilizer, the plugin for fixing shaky video in FCPX and Premiere Pro. BetterStabilizer is part of the FXFactory family of products.
What is CrumplePop BetterStabilizer?
If you have shaky video footage from a drone, handheld camera, or GoPro®, then you can use BetterStabilizer by CrumplePop to stabilize your footage.
Fix shaky video footage
Easy presets like “Drone”, “Handheld”, and “Bike Mount”
Better and faster than the FCPX and Premiere Pro stabilizers
BetterStabilizer (Software Review) by Mark Bremmer
Here’s an excerpt from the article:
In doing some due diligence for this article, I came across several folks who use BetterStabilizer on multicam footage and simply adore the plug-in, even though they have other solutions available. Why? The simplicity of the plug-in versus the results, and the fact that you can simply drop BetterStabilizer on a clip as you would with any other effect. Specifically cited were cases of interviews with a non-stablized camera doing a head-shot. Both the background and subject had some level of motion that the plug-in was very good at fixing. Plus, the fix required no fiddling with extra controls as with some other solutions.
About Mark Bremmer
Mark Bremmer has operated his own commercial studio for over 18 years. He’s been fortunate enough to work for clients like Caterpillar, Colgate, Amana, Hormel Foods, Universal Studios Florida, and The History Channel producing stills, digital mattes and animations. Mark contracts regularly as an art mercenary with production houses that shall remain nameless by written agreements. If you’ve seen shows like The Voice, The Grammy or the ESPY Awards, then you’ve also seen some of Mark’s day-job work.
At this year’s WorldWide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), Apple announced that FCPX and other Pro Video Apps will support VR/360° video post production.
With a release slated for later this year, FCP users will be able to edit, view and share 360° video inside FCPX. Plus, a future version of Motion will allow users to create titles, generators, particles and filters for VR video.
Support for a new compression codec, HEVC, was also announced.
